Domaine Berthet Bondet

Domaine Berthet Bondet

Chantal and Jean Berthet-Bondet, both agrarian doctors, moved to Château-Chalon in 1984, gradually acquiring land. The farm has 11 hectares of vines, with the first harvest in 1985, later converted into organic farming in 2010. The estate dates back to the 16th century and is the home of the abbey administrator Château-Chalon. This "chatelain" house is decorated with crests representing the noble families of Franche-Comté.

In the 15 hectares of vineyard, the estate cultivates 4.5 hectares of Savagnin in AOG Château-Chalon and 10.5 hectares of AOC Côtes du Jura (white grape varieties: Chardonnay and Savagnin - red varieties: trousseau, poulsard, pinot noir) . The vineyards are located on the hills of Château-Chalon and around Lavigny and Le Vernois. The company produces all Jura wines in their diversity: Crémant, Côtes du Jura red, Côtes du Jura white, Chateau-Chalon, Vin de paille, Macvin and Marc de Franche Comté brandy.
