Why the winemaker recommends Vietti Perbacco Nebbiolo Langhe DOC 2021
This is an austere Barolo di Nebbiolo but still with a lively personality. Nebbiolo is a thin-skinned grape but contains powerful tannins and little colour, giving it a "thin" appearance. 20 months in oak adds superb cedar notes. I definitely recommend trying its bigger brothers too!! to buy a few bottles and leave in the cellar for at least 10 years.
Characteristics of the Perbacco Nebbiolo wine from Vietti
In Vietti the quality of the Cru wines is high, in particular the Barolo. This Nebbiolo Perbacco, in fact, surprises for its quality and drinkability. From the Castiglione area, from grapes that will partly become the best-known Barolo, it ages for about 20 months in barrique. Great taste on the sip, with smooth tannins that make drinking very pleasant and fresh, excellent thickness without being accordion-like compared to the perfectly managed balance of the wine. Fruit and tertiaries in evidence enrich the olfactory bouquet eternally along the finish.
Recommended pairings for this 2021 Langhe DOC red wine
Perbacco Nebbiolo wine from Vietti, excellent accompaniment to raschera and bra, and Langhe truffles; perfect in combination with a plate of Cherasco snails.
Uncork and serve at a temperature of 16° - 18°C in a large Ballon glass.
Vietti winery
Each wine is the result of artisanal work, understanding and interpretation of each individual terroir hence the Masseria in Barbaresco, Scarrone and Vigna Vecchia in Barbera d'Alba, La Crena in Barbera d'Asti.
Vietti is thus the place where the intelligence of the hands, applied in the vineyard and in the cellar, meets vision.
