Château La Mission Haut-Brion
Château La Mission Haut-Brion is one of the most fascinating and historic estates in Bordeaux, located in the heart of the Pessac-Léognan appellation. Founded in the 16th century by the Lestonnac family, and then managed for over a century by the Lazarist Fathers, the estate has always been a place where spirituality and excellent viticulture uniquely blend.
In 1983, the Dillon family purchased the property and gave it a new lease of life, renovating the vineyards, cellars, and facilities with respect for tradition and a commitment to excellence. The celebrated Grand Chai, described as "a modern cathedral of wine," and the historic Chapelle de Notre-Dame de la Mission are today symbols of this extraordinary identity.
Crafted with artisanal care and a pioneering spirit, La Mission Haut-Brion is celebrated for its depth, finesse, and consistency, so much so that many—including Robert Parker—consider it the equivalent of a Premier Cru Classé, although it wasn't included in 1855. This recognition officially came in 2009, when Liv-Ex listed it as the sixth Premier Cru in a modern revision of the historic classification.
Each bottle tells a centuries-old story of passion, innovation, and devotion to terroir: a true winemaking masterpiece that embodies the soul of Bordeaux.
