The Puer Apuliae Riserva represents the pinnacle of Cantine Rivera's production. Dedicated to Frederick II of Swabia, this wine is made from a mass selection of an ancient, small-berry Nero di Troia clone, recovered and replanted in the Tafuri vineyard. It is a red wine of extraordinary caliber, expressing the nobility of the Castel del Monte terroir through dense tannins, rare aromatic elegance, and incredible longevity.

The grapes are harvested by hand in the third week of October on calcareous-tuffaceous soils at 250 meters above sea level. The vinification process involves a long maceration of 16-18 days with délestage and micro-oxygenation techniques to manage the impressive tannic structure. This is followed by 16 months of aging in new French oak barriques and tonneaux. The wine is bottled without filtration and further ages in bottle for at least 12 months before being released to the market.

• Appearance: Intense and deep ruby ​​red with elegant purple reflections.
• Aroma: Complex and refined bouquet. Clearly distinguishable notes of blackcurrant and sweet violet, enriched by original hints of face powder and star anise.
• On the Palate: Elegant and very dense. The richness of the spicy black fruit is perfectly balanced by a noble tannic structure and vibrant acidity that provides freshness and a long, persistent finish.
• Aging Potential: A great meditation wine, capable of aging beautifully in the bottle for 12-15 years.
