Why the winemaker recommends Particella 232
Because it speaks of a genuine love for the land: a unique and challenging vineyard plot in Farrò di Follina, where the grapes are selected and vinified separately by Sorelle Bronca. Here, the clay-rich soil of morainic origin—situated at an altitude of 270 to 310 meters—is home to vines approximately 40 years old that are tended exclusively by hand. Particella 232 is an Extra Brut that defies the classic styles traditionally used to produce Prosecco Superiore DOCG; it is a bold choice—acclaimed by critics and enthusiasts alike—that honestly conveys the identity of the terroir. The secondary fermentation follows the Martinotti Method, using must from the same specific plot.
Characteristics of Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore Extra Brut
It displays a straw-yellow color with greenish highlights, featuring an elegant perlage and a fine, persistent, creamy mousse. On the nose, aromas of yellow-fleshed fruit emerge alongside floral notes of rose, wisteria, and lily of the valley—nuances enhanced by the vineyard's altitude. On the palate, it is fresh, taut, and vertical, with pronounced acidity and a finish that concludes with almond notes. With zero residual sugar, this is a Prosecco Superiore of great character and elegance.
