Why I suggest Sondraia Bolgheri Superiore DOC
Coming from the production area of Bolgheri , a few metres above sea level, characterized by a climate conducive with optimal temperatures for cultivation of varietal Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. The temperature at the time of the ripening of the grapes determine the good increases in the level of sugar, encouraging the aromatic development of the varietal. The harvest carried out in weather conditions ideal, it has allowed the grapes to complete the ripening. The vintage is being heralded as one of the best vintages ever able to stand for great balance and elegance.
The Sommelier: Blend of Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon; wine of a ruby red colour of good intensity, with violet highlights and excellent alcohol 15.00% vol. The predominant fragrance of the fresh fruit and nuances of aromatic herbs. In the mouth with a pleasant drink, juicy, light tannins, good persistence.
Food pairings:Excellent wine to grilled meats and roasts. Perfect with the classic fiorentina steak, the platter of prosciutto di Parma and culatello di Zibello, medium-aged cheeses, Parmigiano Reggiano, Pecorino Sardo, scamorza di bufala-smoked.
Uncork and decant one hour before serving at a temperature 16 - 18 °C. in the cup Ballon large.
