Fattoria Petrolo defines biodiversity as a natural balance, therefore a prerogative of compulsory self-imposed cultivation, started in the 2000s. Currently the vineyards are cultivated with this system. Since the 2015 vintage, the Petrolo winery has also obtained organic certification in the management of the vineyards. The Fattoria Petrolo is located on the eastern and western slopes of the Val d'Arno between the plain of Arezzo and the Florentine hills, where the climate is favorable for vines, and different types of soil qualitatively characterize Petrolo's oenological products.

In particular, the Valdarno di Sopra DOC, which includes the municipalities of Cavriglia, Montevarchi, Bucine, Pergine Valdarno, Civitella in Val di Chiana, Castelfranco-Pian di Scò, Castiglion Fibocchi, Terranuova Bracciolini, Loro Ciuffenna and San Giovanni, provides for the Sangiovese, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Syrah and Chardonnay, which are used for the production of fine Petrolo wines.
