Why I suggest Rubesco Riserva Vigna Monticchio Torgiano Rosso Riserva DOCG
Monument. Generosity and extension, elegance and detail. A whispered and very deep finesse, especially on the palate. So, on two feet, the largest red ever produced in Umbria.Vigna Monticchio 4.0 90/100 vintage overall excellent for Sangiovese, including the Umbrian one. Aging 12 months in barriques; then 3 and a half years of bottle and release on the market after about five years from the harvest. The olfactory incipit, to say the least "caberneggiante", makes this wine a perfect seducer.
The Sommelier: Ruby with a dense texture and splendid texture. The nose has an unmistakable crisp fruit, which is declined on flavors of currant and fresh wild cherry, freesia and carnation flowers, cinnamon, blond tobacco and mace. In the mouth it is bursting, the silky tannins caress the mouth and the elegant play between freshness and flavor makes it enveloping and highly drinkable. The finish is bold and with a long aromatic trail.
Suggested pairings: cooked vegetable soups. Legume soup with fresh pasta.
Braised and game; aged cheeses and cured meats: raw ham, taralli with scaldatelli wine, dried fruit.
Uncork and decant before serving at a recommended temperature of 18 ° C, in Gran Ballon glasses.
Cellar: the excellence of Italian wine in the world. Recognized examples the "Rubesco" "Torre di Giano", "Vigna Monticchio" the "Vigna il Pino", "San Giorgio", all from the Lungarotti cellars ...
