Why the winemaker recommends Lungarotti San Giorgio Umbria IGT 2018
Pure Umbrian patriotism. Innovative and ingenious at the time, capable of maintaining itself even over the years, even if they begin to feel 12 years old. Great Umbrian red wine, expresses all the power of the grapes from which it is made, alive despite the years, it could age further. Beautifully present but gentle tannins, fragrant and persistent... Lungarotti confirms itself as a winery of excellence.
Characteristics of the San Giorgio Lungarotti
San Giorgio Umbria IGT wine blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Sangiovese. Compact garnet with an edge that recalls ruby. The nose is deep, articulated, with a start of dark fruits in alcohol and candied orange peel, followed by cinnamon, juniper berries, caramel, cocoa, coffee grounds, leather and an ethereal finish. Enveloping and intense on the palate, it shows a good cohesion of all the gustatory components, with a nice balance, smooth tannins and a savory trail that accompanies the sip until the end.
