Why the winemaker recommends Lungarotti Montefalco Red Riserva DOC 2020
The union of one of the best native vines in Italy with one of the most eclectic international vines, produced by one of the top 10 wineries in Italy can only lead to an excellent result like this Montefalco Rosso.
Characteristics of the Montefalco Lungarotti Reserve
Umbria red wine scented with red fruits, currants and raspberries. Deep and intense purple red, with a complex aroma of red fruits, morello cherries, currants and raspberries, and delicate notes of sweet tobacco and cocoa, and again medicinal herbs in the finish. The structure is dense, with rich but harmonious tannins of great thickness; the fruit is supported by a fresh acidity, and the persistent aftertaste is jammy.
Recommended pairings for this bland Sagrantino red Riserva wine
To the Montefalco DOC Riserva di Lungarotti red wine, excellent with Casunziei Ampezzani; Chianina Florentine cut; grilled veal and beef; cheeses and cured meats.
Uncork Montefalco DOC Red Lungarotti and decant before serving at the recommended temperature of 16 - 18°C, in Ballon glasses.
