Why the winemaker recommends Petra Sangiovese Toscana IGT Alto 2021
The Sangiovese in purity therefore absolutely recommended if you are a lover of the genre. Tall, like the Sangiovese vineyards located in the upper part of the company. It is an important wine so it needs time to open up, 15 years longevity.
Characteristics of the Alto di Petra wine
Tuscan Sangiovese Alto di Petra naturally devoted to longevity, structured, decisive and vibrant, endowed with a powerful and varied expressiveness. A wine that is appreciated for its linearity and character, with a prevalent fruity trace. Notes of rose petals, leather, oak, incense, morello cherry and rust appear on the nose. On the palate there are hints of smoked seasoned wood, cherries, tamarind, bitter orange and mushrooms. Walnut husk aftertaste. Smooth tannins and satisfying persistence.
Suggested pairings with Toscana IGT red wine
Beef meatballs or spaghetti bolognese; Baked leg of lamb; Grilled or braised veal cutlets or shank; Roast chicken; Cured meats in general.
Uncork a Rosso Toscana IGT Alto and serve at a temperature of 16° - 18°C in a Tulipano glass.
Petra winery
Vittorio Moretti (Petra) commissioned the Swiss architect Mario Botta to design a building symbol of passion for the vineyards for the Suvereto winery. The futuristic structure with the front above ground (downstream) immersed in the vines, has the rational shape of a cylinder cut by an inclined plane and on the sides two wings shielded by porticoes. The central body (Prun stone) with the staircase that culminates in the vegetation with changing colors with the seasons creates a variable architecture.
