Merlot is loved especially when it manages to express elegance and finesse, and Quercegobbe makes me enjoy it. Obviously it expresses a lot of territoriality from the Val di Cornia, wines of great softness from the start with fine tannins, perhaps that certain amount of freshness is missing but in Suvereto the wine is made like this. Characteristics of the Quercegobbe di Petra wine

Merlot wine in purity, expresses elegance, finesse, softness, character and extreme pleasantness. Dark, deep red colour. Intense aromas of raspberry, berries, blackcurrant, cherries in alcohol, vanilla, sweet spices and black pepper on the nose. In the mouth it enters soft, alcoholic, velvety and enveloping tannins, with good acidity and freshness, fruity and persistent. Long in the finish, it doesn't show its 14,50 degrees.

Recommended pairings with Merlot Toscana IGT red wine

Perfect on a tasty rib of beef; leg of lamb; Grilled or braised veal cutlets; Roast chicken; Cured meats in general.

Uncork a Rosso Toscana IGT Quercegobbe and serve at a temperature of 18° - 20°C in a Tulipano glass.

Petra winery

Vittorio Moretti (Petra) commissioned the Swiss architect Mario Botta to design a building symbol of passion for the vineyards for the Suvereto winery. The futuristic structure with the front above ground (downstream) immersed in the vines, has the rational shape of a cylinder cut by an inclined plane and on the sides two wings shielded by porticoes. The central body (Prun stone) with the staircase that culminates in the vegetation with changing colors with the seasons creates a variable architecture.
