Le Thadee
Le Thadee: A Wine Treasure of Montefalco
Le Thadee was born from the selection of fine vineyards belonging to a historic family of winemakers from Montefalco. Here, on rolling hills, iconic varieties such as Sagrantino, Sangiovese, Grechetto, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Trebbiano Spoletino thrive, giving life to wines that embody the essence of the territory.
The winery adopts cutting-edge organic methods, respecting local traditions and enhancing the environment at every stage, from the care of the vineyards to the winemaking and refinement. This innovative approach enhances quality, authenticity and longevity, giving each wine a unique and distinctive character.
A Historical and Natural Heritage
The flagship of Le Thadee is the pre-phylloxera vineyard “Della Stella”, which houses centuries-old vines, miraculously survived phylloxera thanks to a unique soil and a traditional cultivation technique. These plants, grown on living supports such as maples, represent a rare example of Etruscan viticulture, preserving an extraordinary biodiversity and an inestimable historical value.
The ancient “tirelle”, or festoons of shoots between the plants, have been restored to maximize the fruit’s exposure to the sun, perpetuating a system that combines functionality and beauty.
A Vision for the Future
Le Thadee is not just a winery, but a true open-air museum that celebrates Umbrian viticulture, combining tradition and innovation to produce authentic and environmentally friendly wines. An example of sustainability and winemaking culture that will continue to tell the story of the territory for future generations.
