Tenuta il Canovino
Tenuta Il Canovino
We are in the Valpolicella wine-growing denomination in the picturesque town of Canova, where Tenuta Il Canovino stands, nestled on gentle slopes at an altitude of 200 meters above sea level. It all begins with Quarto Vecchio, the enveloping flavor of ancient traditions that unfolds through four generations.
Men united by an extraordinary passion for their work: the art of producing wine. Love, stubbornness and imagination are passed on from father to son, dedicating them with dedication to a profession that becomes the precious treasure of the family. A treasure chest full of memories, joys and sacrifices to be preserved with pride and carried forward with honour.
History
It was the end of the nineteenth century in Romagna, when Amilcare Rambelli, the great-grandfather, the master cooper with a long tradition, decided to embark on a new path, abandoning his original profession to dedicate himself to the art of viticulture. After overcoming decades of wars that raged throughout Europe, difficulties and hunger, his son Antonio, a man of intelligence and personality, challenges destiny by leaving his land to seek his fortune in Valpolicella, in Veneto. A new home, a new company for himself and his family. Grandfather Milo, or Emilio, grew up with a love for the profession and the tenacious desire to preserve the tradition and honor of the family name. An esteemed businessman and an upright cellarman since 1957, his strength and humility make him an example as a father and business leader.
The adventure continues with Antonio Rambelli, following in his grandfather's footsteps, bringing with him a wealth of traditions, knowledge and passion. On 10 hectares in Canova, on the hills of Mizzole, a small corner of paradise is born: vineyards kissed by the sun, designed by the elegant geometries of the vines like a garden overlooking Verona. Each plant is carefully looked after, the grapes are carefully selected, and the dedication continues during every phase, from drying to pressing, from fermentation to refinement in the underground cellars, in Slavonian oak barrels. This is how the Quarto Vecchio line and our wines come to life.
Three Reds: Amarone, Valpolicella Ripasso and Valpolicella Superiore. Two sparkling wines: Blanc and Rosè.
