Zago
The farsightedness and stubbornness of Angelo Zago, custodian of traditions in the field of viticulture, from a farming family, founds his existence by dedicating passion and work to his vineyards. The Zago farm over the course of five generations, in fact since the mid-nineteenth century, involves his entire family in this adventure.
With Giovanni and Emilio and until today Rita and her son Enrico, firmly in command, they manage 8 hectares of vineyards in the municipality of Taiedo di Chions (PN).
Vines of Glera grapes as autochthonous belonging to this territory particularly suitable from the morphological point of view for the creation of Prosecco.
Maison Zago raises vines following the integrated pest management protocol in respect of preserving the environment and grapes. The low yields basically raise the organoleptic quality of the bunch. As also in the cellar, the oenological operations aim to maximize and with the utmost care, the grapes are allowed to express their potential.
The Zago Vinery is offered with types of Prosecco, scrupulously from its own grapes, at each harvest: Extra Dry, Millesimato and refermented in the bottle, the latter remaining on the lees without disgorging.
The labels express freshness to the taste and an elegant bubble. Excellent quality and versatility from a gastronomic point of view, as evidenced by the numerous awards acquired by authoritative international trade magazines such as the Decanter magazine.
