Why I suggest Staffes Lagrein Riserva Alto Adige DOC 2020
Strong, compelling, animal-like, sumptuous Lagrein Staves, awarded 3 Gambero Rosso glasses. The small and virtuous Kornell winery produces it in Settequerce, a hamlet of Appiano. One of the Lagrein has the most good drink, a real renaissance in the mouth!
Sommelier:
A convincing Lagrein from the Kornell estate (located north of Bolzano), aged for 18 months in oak, has an intense dark purple red color. A very specific nose that mixed sweet ripe blackberries with fresh hints of red currents, a floral touch reminiscent of rose petals, wood spices, seasoned with a hint of bitter chocolate. Medium-bodied with an elegant, fresh and juicy structure, a good fruit core, soft tannins and a salty flattering minerality.
Recommended pairings:
Excellent Staffes Lagrein Riserva Alto Adige DOC Kornell with pork fillet, grilled prawns, cuttlefish and roasted squid; with asparagus, artichoke pie; Seared tuna in a pan; Medium seasoning cheeses.
Uncork Staffes Lagrein Riserva Alto Adige DOC 2020 Kornell and decant before serving at a temperature of 16-18 ° C, in a large Ballon glass.
Cellar:
Pinot Blanc, Sauvignon blanc and Gewürztraminer with Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Lagrein red wines produced and fermented in steel tanks followed by a long refinement in large barrels and oak barrels...go to the card
