Why I suggest Staffes Merlot Riserva Alto Adige DOC 2021
From the vineyards of the Kornell Estate, an unexpected surprise: a Merlot cultivated with a terlano fermenting in oak vast and then about a year of barriques and 8 months of large casks, a wonderful wine for its freshness and drinkability. In the mouth it is full clean, in a moment the glass is empty and the final flavor makes it necessary to top up immediately.
Sommelier:
A convincing Merlot from the Kornell estate (located north of Bolzano), aged for 8 months in oak, has a deep dark purple red color. A very specific nose that mixed sweet ripe blackberries with fresh hints of red currants, a floral touch reminiscent of rose petals, wood spices, seasoned with a hint of bitter chocolate. Medium-bodied with an elegant, fresh and juicy structure, a good fruit core, soft tannins and a salty flatting minerality.
Recommended pairings:
Excellent Staffes Merlot Riserva Alto Adige DOC 2021 Kornell with pork fillet, grilled prawns, cuttlefish and roasted squid; with asparagus, artichoke pie; Seared tuna in a pan; Medium seasoning cheeses.
Uncork and decant Staffes Merlot Riserva Alto Adige DOC Kornell before serving at a temperature of 16-18 ° C, in a large Ballon glass.
