Why I suggest Aglianico Cappellaccio Castel del Monte riserva DOC 2017

As a judgment we consider it a ready and very good wine, the Reserves of Aglianico Cappellaccio are to be tasted on important occasions, because it shows a very long life. We think it will reach excellence in a few years, around ten years after the harvest. Puglia maintains a high reputation also in terms of quality/price ratio.

Characteristics of the Aglianico wine:

Aglianico Castel del Monte DOC Cappellaccio di Rivera Intense amaranth red wine with purplish reflections, of conspicuous consistency. The fruitiness of the undergrowth is impactful and varied, accompanied by the pleasant spiciness of licorice and the bitter note of rhubarb.

Dry taste, quite fresh, a slight astringency of the tannin is felt when the wine has yet to reach full maturity, but the time to come, a velvety and well balanced tannin will delight us. On the palate full-bodied and a very persistent finish, a very fine pleasant wine, tending towards excellence.

Recommended pairings:

Aglianico Cappellaccio Castel del Monte reserve DOC 2017 Rivera with well seasoned and spiced dishes, stewed and braised beef, vegetables in pinzimonio; grilled goat meat, Florentine rib eye; Timbale of baked pasta, snails with mint, cod with baked potatoes; cheeses and cold cuts.

Uncork Aglianico Cappellaccio Castel del Monte Riserva 2017 by Rivera ½ hour before serving at a temperature between 16 - 18°C, in a large Ballon goblet.
