Why the winemaker recommends Baglio di Pianetto Fermata 125 Etna Rosso DOC
A good Etna red, pure Nerello Mascalese. And that's how it smells and tastes too. Carefree, berry, finely crafted. A joy! The texture is juicy, the wine is not overripe but just good.
Characteristics of the wine Fermata 125 Baglio di Pianetto
Wow...Nerello Mascalese, my favorite red grape, or Sicilian Pinot Noir (just my association). It tastes fantastic, red fruit nose, balsamic, yeast and a hint of oak. Medium bodied on the palate, with silky smooth tannins and a nice acidity. There are notes of red cherry, strawberry, raspberry, minerals, balsamic, yeast and a hint of blueberry. Delicate and pungent, challenging but... really enjoyable.
Recommended pairings for this Etna Rosso wine
Frappato wine highly recommended especially if accompanied with an excellent scorpion fish soup and croutons.
Uncork the Nerello Mascalese Bio and serve at a temperature between 16 and 18 °C in a Balloon glass.
