Description

Why the winemaker recommends Cantine Nicosia Syrah DOC Fondo Filara Biologico 2022

Obviously it is not a Syrah with high ratings, but its price makes it affordable for anyone who wants to get to know this red wine, doing justice to the Sicilian grape in this case. Personally I appreciated it a lot, with its fruity hints. I love Syrah and applaud this economical exponent. Highly recommended.

Characteristics of the Syrah Fondo Filara wine from Nicosia

Fondo Filara 2022 from Nicosia, Syrah 13.5% Vol., a young, correct and graceful interpretation of Syrah, with varietal hints, not intense but recognisable, of red fruits and spices. Fresh, light, fruity, medium tannic palate. Good QP ratio. To drink within a year of harvest, or a little more.

Recommended pairings for this 2022 Organic Syrah wine

It goes well with red or white meats, game, aubergine parmigiana, roasted artichokes in dip.

Uncork and serve at a temperature of 16 - 18°C in a Ballon glass.

Nicosia winery

Sicily in five generations, 1898 Francesco Nicosia, the great-grandfather of Etna wine, already known and appreciated in Europe for its "volcanic" and mineral strength. In the 20th century, Carmelo Nicosia expanded and renovated the vineyards and created a modern winery, at the foot of one of the extinct craters that dot Etna. The Monte Gorna estate with its typical lava terraces where the native vines of the volcano grow. He therefore leads the family company to be the protagonist of the rebirth of Sicilian wine

Cantine Nicosia promotes the territory, starting from the prized native vines and the international varieties that are best suited to Sicily. A path of excellence in the Sicilian wine tradition.
