Why the winemaker recommends Giovanni Rosso Langhe Nebbiolo 2021
Not an easy vintage, 25% less production. Treated as a baby Barolo, grapes harvested in Cerretta Ovest in Serralunga, a smaller part in Roddino (responsible for freshness). Full maturity fruit, large barrel structure. Transversal wine, it is appreciated for its pleasant immediacy.
Characteristics of Giovanni Rosso Nebbiolo wine
Nebbiolo, large barrels for a few months and short maceration. Ruby red with garnet notes, clear and very pale. The not too ripe cherry stands out on the nose, the dried flowers (violets, roses) and the slight sensations of leather, not very spicy. Sip where the tannin is already well integrated and never over the top, fresh, beautiful acidity. Savory finish, the fruity part returns, the floral part in the background to which iron sensations are added.
Recommended pairings for this Langhe DOC red wine
It goes perfectly with a beef stew.
To get the most out of its aroma and taste, it is advisable to uncork it and let it decant for at least two hours before serving it at a temperature of 18-20°C in a large ballon goblet.
Giovanni Rosso winery
The winemaking potential of the area has greatly helped in affirming quality. The result of determination and entrepreneurial stubbornness gained in remote times compared to today. The excellences are also the result of attention in planning cultural projects in the vineyard and in the cellar. The oenological experiences in other important production contexts have become the levers for the young heirs, they have determined a qualified strengthening of their management. The Giovanni Rosso estate faces an agricultural area planted with vineyards. An important extension not particularly united which boasts the parcels of the most important crus in Serralunga d'Alba. In addition to a recent extra territorial acquisition, on Etna.
