Conti Costanti
Conti Costanti
The wines of the new world can compete with Italian wines, what they can never get is the millenary history that each productive territory has wisely built, consolidated and handed down to new generations. Like the Costanti family, the Sienese patricians of the 15th century, who entered the history of Montalcino through epic events, saw the beginning of creation and also the definitive conclusion of the Republic of Siena in the Montalcino territory in the year 1555 - 1559, deciding to remain entering in possession of vast estates and to lay the foundations of the history of the Costanti family which takes on the appearance with that of the town of Il Chino and its enology. Lands ranging from the Colle al Matrichese to the Castello di Bibbiano up to Sovignano a few kilometers from Siena.
Today the company is run by the heir Andrea Costanti, with twenty-five hectares, continues a century-old tradition. The estate has kept faith with the work begun by the ancestors in the study and selection of brunello clones where the vine variety of Sangiovese predominates and aims exclusively at long-lived and complex wines. The harvests have followed one another since then, maintaining a protocol for processing the grapes that is identical to the oenological traditions of the area, so that, year after year, elegant and rigorous labels are produced at the same time. Wines that differ from the characteristics of the content in length and quality of persistence.
