Rivera Negroamaro Salento IGT 2025
Rivera's Negroamaro Salento IGT was born from the desire to interpret the iconic grape variety of Salento through the winery's signature style: cleanliness, elegance, and freshness. Avoiding overripeness, this wine aims to enhance the sunny, Mediterranean character of Negroamaro, maintaining an agile drinkability and silky tannins that make it extremely versatile for pairing.
The grapes are harvested by hand in Salento, an area that benefits from generous sunlight and constant sea breezes that preserve the acidity. Vinification takes place in temperature-controlled steel tanks, with a carefully calibrated maceration to extract the color and typical aromatic complexity of the black fruit. The wine ages in steel and cement, a technical choice that allows for the preservation of the varietal integrity, avoiding oaky notes that could obscure the grape's natural freshness.
Tasting Notes and Sensory Profile
- Abv: 13.00% Vol.
- Appearance: Deep ruby red with lively purple reflections.
- Aroma: Intense and frank bouquet, characterized by fruity notes of wild plum, black cherry, and blueberry, enriched with a herbaceous touch and a delicate hint of violet.
- On the Palate: With good structure and fullness, it stands out for its balance between the softness of the fruit and the fresh acidity. The well-integrated and smooth tannins accompany a long, clean finish with a pleasant bitterness typical of the grape variety.
Recommended Pairings and Serving Suggestion
Its gastronomic nature makes it perfect for pairing with rich Mediterranean cuisine:
- Land Cuisine: Ideal with first courses topped with meat sauces, eggplant parmigiana, orecchiette with turnip greens, or traditional lamb dishes.
- Second Courses: Perfect with grilled meats, roulades with sauce, and traditional Apulian cured meat platters.
- Serving Suggestion: We recommend serving at a temperature of 16-18°C in medium-sized glasses.
