Nice to see a single varietal cherry tree, it's also great fun. Does what the label says, lots of fleshy cherry, very juicy and soft tannins. It's not the most complicated wine in the world, but it doesn't try to be. Nice, does its job.
Characteristics of the Ciliegiolo Tenuta Aquilaia wine
Ciliegiolo means pleasant little cherry, sincere and very easy to drink; produced by the Tenuta Aquilaia winery. The wine is ruby red with a medium-high layer and a purplish edge. On the nose cherries, black fruits and a little pepper. The palate is dry, medium bodied and powerful. Good level of acidity with soft tannins and medium final persistence.
Recommended pairings with Maremma Toscana DOC red wine
Delicious wine goes well with pasta with sauce, croutons and tomato, grilled red meat, spicy cheeses, pizza with ham.
