Why the winemaker recommends Frescobaldi Giramonte di Castiglione Toscana IGT 2021

Giramonte Cru wine of Tenuta Castiglioni is fully included as a wine produced from the Sangiovese and Merlot vineyards that the Frescobaldi family has transferred from three generations to today and present in Tenuta Castiglioni. The perfume dominates and guarantees expectations, a wine suitable for making lunch or dinner pleasant and convivial.

Characteristics of the Giramonte Castiglione wine by Frescobaldi

Giramonte di Castiglione, a brilliant long-lived wine with a vibrant, flexible and fresh character of Premium class, a well-kept wine with an excellent alcohol content and a complex bouquet in combination with slightly spicy floral notes and the fruitiness of the freshly drained must. Harmonious, perfectly balanced in tannins, robust, warm in the mouth, the excellent alcohol content lasts long into the finish.

Recommended pairings for this Toscana red wine

Giramonte Toscana IGT Marchesi Frescobaldi with robust dishes: tortelli stuffed with meat, cappelletti, tagliatelle with duck ragù, mixed roasts, pork, lamb, excellent on risottos with mushrooms, Apulian lasagne, vegetable soups with meat

Uncork Giramonte Castiglione di Frescobaldi and air for 1 hour before serving at a temperature between 16 - 18°C in a large Ballon glass.

Tenuta Castiglioni Frescobaldi Cellar

Tenuta Castiglioni is a family property located in the Val di Pesa, with land ideal for viticulture. The estate was built along the ancient Via di Castiglioni, built by the Romans to unite northern Tuscany with Rome. The area was already famous in those days for the quality of agricultural crops. The Frescobaldi family has owned the estate for centuries and have been producing high quality wines in this area for over 700 years.
