Castelle
Castelvenere, "City of Wine" in the province of Benevento. The Sannio is the geographic location, between the Matese massif and the Taburno, to the Calore river. Climate and fertile soil of the hills rich in vines, ten thousand hectares of vineyards and olive groves.
Here I win in the production of the Castelle Winery, born from remote agricultural experiences of the brothers Mariano and Raffaele Assini. They are a part, and in the best areas of production: Tore, Cienzo and Marraioli. With the generational change, the wife Maria and her sons Francesco and Annamaria take over from Veninius Assini.
The agronomic management provides, a system of espalier breeding, for varieties of Falanghina, Aglianico, Barbera del Sannio, the adoption of programs of good agricultural practice in organic farming. The experimentation of vineyard grassing projects is underway. The goal is to preserve the integrity of the land, positively favoring the development of the vine.
The Sannio includes three documents of quality of wine, a composition a wine heritage: Aglianico, Sommarello, Piedirosso, Sciascinoso, Agostinella, Falanghina, Cerreto, Coda di fox, Greek, Malvasia, Fiano, but also Passolara di San Bartolomeo, Olivella, Carminiello , Palombina, Muscat of Baselice.
The viticulture in Campania is therefore the unequivocal sign of the cultural and social identity of the entire Samnite community.
