Il Marroneto
Tenuta Il Marroneto has its roots in 1974, when Giuseppe Mori fell in love with the medieval village of Montalcino and an ancient 13th-century tower. This building, originally used to dry chestnuts ("marroni"), became the center of a family passion. Giuseppe, together with his sons Andrea and Alessandro, began to dedicate himself to the vineyard every weekend, planting the first vines in 1975 and gradually expanding the vineyard area until 1984.
These early years marked the beginning of a pioneering adventure for the Mori family, who, despite their initial inexperience, found inspiration thanks to their encounter with the masters of Tuscan oenology Mario Cortevesio and Giulio Gambelli. Alessandro, over the years, grew in this world, until he became the heart of Tenuta Il Marroneto. In 1990 he took over the entire production, giving the wine a unique and personal style that reflects his love for his land.
Today Il Marroneto is one of the most appreciated historic companies in Montalcino, known for its traditional Brunello, aged in large Allier and Slavonian oak barrels. This elegant and profound wine contains the essence of the territory and tradition, the result of a process that respects nature and the character of the grape.
