Why the winemaker recommends Marroneto Ignaccio Rosso di Montalcino 2021
Excellent Montalcino red, 22 months in oak barrels and 6 in the bottle. A wine that can be appreciated blindly and drunk with extreme ease. Simplicity combined with quality is never banality, but value.
Characteristics of the Ignaccio red wine from Il Marroneto
Ignaccio Rosso di Montalcino starts off strong on the nose, playing on an intense and beautifully faceted bouquet, from purebred Sangiovese. Drinking, however, is more difficult with a rather grumpy tannic texture and an alcohol content which, despite the 13.5% vol. it makes itself felt.
The finish has discreet persistence, the vintage is difficult but it is reasonable to expect more.
Recommended pairings for this Toscana red wine
Homemade pasta seasoned with mixed beef, lamb and veal sauce; grilled chicken breast; Florentine Focaccia.
Uncork and decant two hours before serving the Ignaccio Rosso di Montalcino at a temperature of 18 - 20°C in a Ballon glass.
The Marroneto Wine
It represents the essence of Montalcino tradition. Since 1974, the Mori family has lovingly cared for every phase of production, creating an authentic, elegant and historically rich Brunello. Aged in Allier and Slavonian oak barrels, this wine embodies the culture and respect for a generous land, giving intense emotions with every sip.
