The Gattinara DOCG Timoteo di Gaggiano is a fine wine. Produced with Nebbiolo grapes, a typical vine of the Piedmont area. The first vintage of production dates back to 2014, but its history dates back to antiquity thanks to the patron saint of wine, Cardinal Mercurino Arborio, who appreciated its quality.
Characteristics of the wine:
The Nebbiolo Gattinara D.O.C.G. they are harvested in vineyards with an average age of 40 years, located in the Gattinara production area at an altitude of 380 meters above sea level. with good exposure, on land characterized by large blocks of quartz and porphyry.
Harvested in the first half of October, the grapes are pressed and subsequently fermented in steel. Maceration takes place for a medium-long period. The wine thus takes on a red-brown color with one of the lowest pH values in the region. A nice medium bodied dry wine. On the nose you have orange zest and some fruit jam notes. On the palate there is cherry and pomegranate. The acidity is quite strong but not disturbing. Pleasant wine Gaggiano Nebbiolo Gattinara D.O.C.G. Timoteo ages for at least 35 months in second passage French oak barrels. This aging process gives it elegance and austere complexity.
