Why the winemaker recommends Nicosia Contrada Monte Gorna Riserva Vecchie Viti Rosso
Sicilian red wine to the core, full of smell and flavour, it makes you travel with your heart. A Monte Gorna Riserva Vecchie Viti Rosso is a noble wine. Etna Rosso is like this, take it or leave it. It has no frills, but rigor in this district of Monte Gorna. A nice dry and deep drink rich in balsamic nuances. Twin red wine of San Nicolò from Nerello Mascalese and Cappuccio grapes grown on a parallel volcanic cone on the south-yeast side at 700 m above sea level. Vinification and aging for one year in steel, barrique and large barrels. On a gustatory level it reflects the same characteristics as San Nicolò apart from a greater intensity.
Characteristics of the Vecchie Viti Monte Gorna wine from Nicosia
A fairly complex wine with a pale ruby red color, tending towards garnet. On the nose there is a great presence of red fruit and many spices. Monte Gorna Riserva Vecchie Viti Red in the mouth, soft, balsamic, intense, persistent with balanced tannins. Balance that is played between acidity and a mix of alcohol and fruit. Concentrated fruit, supported by a good structure.

It goes well with a grilled fillet; mature cheeses.
