Why the winemaker recommends Cantina Montenero Etna Rosso DOC Armonia 2018
Nerello mascalese Etna area on old vines in important heights. Natural agriculture, aging in large barrels. I've been wanting to taste it again for some time and the memory has been confirmed. The company's ability to make the alcohol content non-aggressive and angular is to be commended. A superb minerality all tied elegantly with gold thread woven by the maker. An excellent representation of Nerello Mascalese at an attractive price. I reconfirm that this little reality is worth trying.
Characteristics of the Nerello Mascalese Cantina Montenero wine
Nerello Mascalese is above all an elegant wine, as often happens with the reds of Etna, which deserve much more luck than they enjoy today. It has a soft but penetrating nose, with hints of berries and pepper, eucalyptus and strawberry, not without a subtle smoky nuance. In the mouth it is more pungent, with a beautiful personality and long acidity, fresh and elegant, with a long mineral finish.
Recommended pairings with the red wine of Etna Rosso DOC
Delicious wine to pair with homemade pasta with meat sauce; Romagna-style lasagna.
