Characteristics of the Barco Reale di Carmignano DOC 2025 Fattoria Ambra
The Barco Reale di Carmignano 2025 from Fattoria Ambra is a Tuscan red wine that is young, fresh, and extraordinarily pleasant, taking its name from the ancient Medici hunting reserve established in the 17th century. Historically considered the "little brother" of the Carmignano DOCG, this wine shares the same traditional blend—dominantly Sangiovese and enriched with Canaiolo and Cabernet—but stands out for its more agile, immediate, and distinctly fruity stylistic approach, perfect for everyday dining.
In the glass, it presents a bright and clear ruby red color, accompanied by a good consistency. On the nose, it releases an intense and fragrant bouquet, with notes of ripe cherries, black cherries, and small red berries, enriched on the finish by a subtle and refreshing mineral note. On the palate, it reveals a dry wine, characterized by an enveloping warmth and a vibrant freshness that perfectly balances the dynamic body. The tannins are young but already well-polished, guiding the sip towards a clean, harmonious finish with a pleasant fruity persistence.
Recommended Pairings and Serving Suggestion
The extraordinary culinary versatility of the Barco Reale di Carmignano DOC 2025 makes it the ideal companion for both informal meals and more structured dishes from the local gastronomic tradition:
- First Courses and Soups: It pairs magnificently with legume soups, traditional Tuscan vegetable soups (such as ribollita), and first courses seasoned with flavorful meat sauces.
- Meat-Based Second Courses: Excellent paired with medium-bodied white and red meats, such as rabbit cacciatore, roast veal, and grilled meats, without disdaining a classic Florentine steak for those who prefer a less robust red. austere.
- Cheeses: It pairs perfectly with medium-hard and mature cheeses such as Grana Padano or Parmigiano Reggiano.
- Serving Recommendation: We recommend serving at a temperature of 16 - 18°C. It can be uncorked just before drinking and served in large balloon glasses to allow the fruity bouquet to fully unfold.
