Why I suggest La Serra Barolo 2018 Voerzio Martini
Voerzio Martini a winery that obviously knows how to work Barolo very well. Good across the board. Matures in tonneau and large barrels for the last 6 months. Wine of great structure and elegance. Difficult to find a fault, but absolutely easy to find merits, starting from the fruity and toasted aromas, to then appreciate the decisive and persuasive drink. Full entry with lively but already partly tame tannins. Fluid and very pleasant sip, not obvious for a Barolo.
Sommelier:
Ruby red with garnet reflections. Wide and elegant nose of dried violet, marasca cherry in alcohol, cloves, pepper and a hint of menthol. In the mouth soft and enveloping, fresh, savory, with a smooth tannin and a fruity and spicy persistence. Balanced and full-bodied, harmonious and intense, exceptional.
Recommended combinations:
Excellent with white truffle tagliolini, porcini mushrooms; meditating in accompaniment with dried fruit.
Uncork and let it air before serving at a temperature of 18 ° C. in a large Ballon glass.
Cellar:
The experience and culture of wine is handed down even when there are no heirs ready to collect the direct guidance of the company. This is where Cases History such as Voerzio Martini are born, with the 'new advancing ". Thanks to the decades-long experience of Gianni Voerzio the previous owner and the clear ideas of two young entrepreneurs, Mirko and Federica Martini, who know how to move and in 2015 they bought the Gianni Voerzio Winery. Today they expect to have twelve hectares of their own vineyards and another recent purchase on the Monvigliero hill, half a hectare of the prestigious Cerequio cru, between Barolo and La Morra at a stellar price. The available vines begin to offer important qualities, I can't wait to try the three crus.
