Why I suggest Barolo 2018 Voerzio Martini
Nice Barolo, this is what you look for in a wine. Nice layers and good balance. Just open it and it's really good to drink, not too many tannins and acids already well balanced. Pleasantly surprised.
Sommelier:
Ruby red with still some purplish reflections. Good density in the glass during rotation. Elegant and very intense nose. It opens on aromas of sour cherry, red plum, red rose, violet, wormwood, black pepper and nutmeg. The closure is reminiscent of liquorice and Abanese tobacco. In the mouth it has structure and decision. A citrine acidity reminiscent of red orange, embraces dense and powdery tannins well integrated into the structure. Beautiful roundness in the first palate. It ends long and persistent.
Recommended combinations:
Excellent with tagliolini with meat sauce, sautéed porcini mushrooms and seared red radicchio; meditating, accompanied with dried fruit.
Uncork and let it air before serving at a temperature of 18 ° C. in a large Ballon glass.
Cellar:
The experience and culture of wine is handed down even when there are no heirs ready to collect the direct guidance of the company. This is where Cases History such as Voerzio Martini are born, with the 'new advancing ". Thanks to the decades-long experience of Gianni Voerzio the previous owner and the clear ideas of two young entrepreneurs, Mirko and Federica Martini, who know how to move and in 2015 they bought the Gianni Voerzio Winery. Today they expect to have twelve hectares of their own vineyards and another recent purchase on the Monvigliero hill, half a hectare of the prestigious Cerequio cru, between Barolo and La Morra at a stellar price. The available vines begin to offer important qualities, I can't wait to try the three crus.
