Why the winemaker recommends Baglio di Pianetto Fermata 125 Etna Bianco DOC
This volcanic Carricante has a very pretty and artistic label. Mineral style, rigorous and clear like volcanic rock and lava.
A really nice taste and I totally understand that the terroir of a volcano really does have something to do with the taste. Very earthy wine.
Characteristics of the Bianco Fermata 125 Baglio di Pianetto wine
Sicilian wines are my new focus. All aboard the white wine, I hope you have a ticket. Fermata 125 is where this winery is located. Etna Sicily Carricante grapes a love. Fun facts from volcanic wines: salty, smoky, minerally are all adjectives I would use. The acidity is chiseled and lively, the fruit is in that concentrated lime/lemon with a spritz of orange zest/flowers. It hits the palate perfectly. So refreshing at 13%, it has a bitter twist at the end that forces the next sip. Sicilian wines are my new goal.
Suggested pairings for this white wine Sicilia Etna DOC
Cargante wine highly recommended especially if accompanied with an excellent Sicilian fish soup and croutons.
Uncork the Caricante Bio and serve at a temperature between 10 and 12 °C in a Tulipano glass.
