Why the winemaker recommends Cantine Nicosia Juculano Catarratto Frizzante Terre Siciliane IGT
Saying Sicily raises great expectations!! Juculano is a white wine based on Catarratto, a wine with a marked minerality, an extension of the aromas of the Mediterranean scrub. Widespread throughout Sicily, Catarratto is an ancient native vine often used in blends with other white grape varieties. Vinified in purity, it turns out to be a frank wine, animated by glycerine consistencies. A characteristic white, with good body and balance with pleasant fruity and floral notes.
Characteristics of Juculano white wine from Nicosia
Bold wine with a deep straw color. Fun wine with the right amount of fruitiness such as banana, peach, broom, chamomile, almost entirely transferred to the mouth where the floral notes of citrus prevail with cedar and unripe peach in the finish. Medium density on the palate, enveloping and oily, soft. Clear acidity and freshness. Medium persistence. Native Sicilian catarratto, intense, structured, not very complex, spontaneous.
Recommended pairings for this white wine Catarratto Frizzante Terre Siciliane IGT
Excellent pairing with beccafico sardine rolls and villanella artichokes; White meat; shrimps; Caprese salad.
Uncork and serve at a temperature of 10°-12°C in a Tulipano glass.
Nicosia winery
Sicily in five generations, 1898 Francesco Nicosia, the great-grandfather of Etna wine, already known and appreciated in Europe for its "volcanic" and mineral strength. In the 20th century, Carmelo Nicosia expanded and renovated the vineyards and created a modern winery, at the foot of one of the extinct craters that dot Etna. The Monte Gorna estate with its typical lava terraces where the native vines of the volcano grow. He therefore leads the family company to be the protagonist of the rebirth of Sicilian wine
Cantine Nicosia promotes the territory, starting from the prized native vines and the international varieties that are best suited to Sicily. A path of excellence in the Sicilian wine tradition.
