A Story of Family and Female Vision

The estate's modern era is intrinsically tied to the Fugazza family and the vision of sisters Giovannella and Maria Giulia Fugazza, who revitalized the family brand starting in 1980. Today, the winery is led by Giovannella alongside a dynamic young team, dedicated exclusively to crafting estate-grown grapes with an artisanal touch.

Two Estates, Two Unique Terroirs

The estate encompasses 80 hectares of vineyards located between 150 and 270 meters above sea level, divided into two neighboring estates with distinct soil profiles:

• Luzzano Estate (Oltrepò Pavese): Dominated by calcareous marls, this is the cradle of full-bodied, savory reds built for long aging—such as Reserve bottlings of Gutturnio, Bonarda, Barbera, Pinot Nero, and Merlot—alongside structured whites like Chardonnay.
• Romito Estate (Colli Piacentini): Defined by sand, clay, and silt soils, it yields smooth, fruity reds and intensely aromatic whites. It is home to the famous Malvasia di Candia Aromatica, with over 12 hectares dedicated to this iconic variety.

Sustainability and the Castle Cellar

For over two decades, viticulture has followed eco-friendly integrated farming practices, featuring natural grass cover between rows and predominantly hand-harvested grapes. Micro-vinifications take place in the underground 1936 cellar using traditional concrete tanks, while the medieval Castle cellar is reserved for the slow oak barrel aging of the top red reserves, overseen by enologist Stefano Testa.
