Why I recommend Rallo Moscato Passito di Pantelleria DOP 2017

A fantastic taste journey on the volcanic island of Pantelleria, accompanied by the famous sweet Passito wine. Production of Moscato d’Alessandria and/or Passito di Pantelleria also known as Zibibbo. The name translated into Arabic “zabib” raisins/raisins. Cultivated on terraces, according to Arab agricultural customs, in dry stone wall enclosures to protect from the hot winds coming from the nearby African continent. From the vinification of dehydrated grapes on the plant, Passito is obtained, an enchanting, fragrant, sweet wine. Excellent pairing with aged cheeses, Sicilian or homemade pastries.

Characteristics of Moscato Passito di Rallo wine

The grape comes from a model of “heroic agriculture” and as typical of Moscati, Zibibbo/Passito is an aromatic grape. It has a golden yellow color, very fragrant and a thousand facets, it is pleasant and fruity on the nose, with variegated notes of honey, apricot and jam. Full-bodied, sweet on the palate, soft and full-bodied. Persistent with an aftertaste of honey, it leaves an aromatic and velvety finish in the mouth.

Recommended pairings for this passito di Pantelleria sweet wine Sicily

Cantina Rallo

An eternal union between nature and knowledge. This work is highlighted above all by the wines that speak in the glass. The wines of this historic winery, in fact, in recent years, have become increasingly convincing for their elegance, complexity and reliability over time
