Salina Bianco IGP Dry Malvasia Caravaglio
Fresh, aromatic, and intensely Mediterranean, Salina Bianco IGP is the first dry Malvasia wine produced in the Aeolian Islands by Caravaglio. An organic white wine of great finesse, an authentic expression of the volcanic and marine terroir of the island of Salina.
The product of a blend of 90% Malvasia di Lipari and 10% other native white grape varieties, it comes from twenty small, certified organic vineyards located between Malfa and Santa Marina Salina, on sandy, volcanic soils that give the wine a unique savory and mineral character.
The harvest is manual, in late August and early September. Once harvested, the grapes undergo a 24-hour cold maceration, followed by spontaneous fermentation on native yeasts at a controlled temperature. The wine ages on the fine lees until bottling, with a final light filtration. The entire process respects natural rhythms, enhancing its freshness and distinctive character.
Tasting Notes
In the glass, it presents bright, straw-yellow reflections. On the nose, hints of white flowers, aromatic herbs, and citrus zest emerge, anticipating a vibrant, savory, and refreshing palate. Balanced and versatile, this dry white wine evokes the full power of the sea and the Aeolian sun.
Recommended Pairings
Perfect with seafood appetizers, fish-based first courses, shellfish, fresh cheeses, or simply as a Mediterranean aperitif. Serve at 12–14°C to enhance its fragrance and vitality.
