Why the winemaker recommends Claudio Mariotto Territorio Barbera Colli Tortonesi DOC
Good variety of Barbera dei Colli Tortonesi DOC which winks at strawberry grapes. “Barbera must dirty his mouth and leave his shirt” And the shirt (deposit on the bottle..) is there; really excellent unfiltered wine, clear hints of strawberry. Pleasant and captivating.
Characteristics of the Territory wine a Barbera by Claudio Mariotto
Full-bodied wine from the Tortonesi Hills. A true and well made red! Nothing to envy of the Langhe! Excellent producer and not only of Timorasso. Very territorial, frank, sincere... on the nose humus, undergrowth, dried mushrooms, spicy notes of pepper. In the mouth it stands out for its excellent freshness in contrast with the soft and round components. One sip leads to another...
Recommended pairings for this Piemonte red wine Barbera Colli Tortonesi DOC
Fine and highly drinkable Barbera, excellent to accompany a plate of agnolotti with meat sauce; Lasagna Bolognese; braised in Barbera red wine; a fassona carpaccio; with winter dishes: meat soups, boiled meats, stews.
Uncork the Barbera and serve at an average temperature of 16 - 18°C in a Ballon glass.
Claudio Mariotto company
Founded in 1921, it extends over 54 hectares of vineyards between Vho and Sarezzano, at an altitude between 250 and 300 m above sea level. Benefiting from a unique microclimate, influenced by the Apennines and the proximity of the sea, we grow our vines in a natural way, without pesticides. In the 1990s, Claudio Mariotto rediscovered Timorasso, producing a fine Piedmontese white wine for aging. Every day we enhance our land by bottling wines that tell its history and passion.
