Why the winemaker recommends Tassi Vigna Colombaiolo Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2019
Simply amazing, I love this wine so much. All Brunello Tassi are single vineyard. The Colombaiolo vineyard is higher, the fermentation is in oak (rather than in steel). Aged in medium sized oak barrels (no large barrels or small barriques) for 24 months. 5 years before release. Sangiovese wine intensely aromatic and ready to explode out of the glass. The oak made this wine round and provided a slightly fuller body than the others. The acidity is high and provides a great balance. Highly recommended wine!
Characteristics of Giuseppe Tassi Colombaio red wine
Colombaiolo it's fantastic single vineyard Brunello di Montalcino by Giuseppe Tassi. How can it reach a further level of complexity? The earthy nose is very intense and fruitier with black cherry, blackcurrant, beautiful oak, mushrooms, leather, tar and cinnamon. Soft and powerful on the palate with pure balanced acidity and constructive dry tannins, moving, long finish.
Recommended pairings for this Brunello di Montalcino red Toscana wine
Excellent wine that can be enjoyed lightly when accompanied by an excellent Florentine steak; perfect with wild boar.
Uncork and decant at least two hours before serving the Brunello di Montalcino at a temperature of 18 - 20°C in a large Ballon glass.
