Why the winemaker recommends Accornero Cima Barbera del Monferrato DOC Superiore Riserva 2016
Cima Riserva from the renowned Azienda Agricola Accornero is known for some of the best medium-heavy red wines in Italy. This wine once again confirms why Accornero is highly rated in "The Little Johnson" (2024 edition). A bomb! A Barbera reserve that rises to the status of an elite Monferrato DOC wine. For those who still believe it is a minor vine...
Super Barbera Cima Riserva is produced only in the best years, overripe grapes (harvested in mid-October), 30 months in tonneau. I hope everyone can taste it.
Characteristics of the Barbera Cima di Accornero wine
This Barbera Cima di Accornero is very powerful, the wine is a little closed on the nose and reveals itself after a couple of hours. At that point he starts talking to us about black cherries, blueberries, licorice, roots and smoked wood. The sip is warm, imposing, full-bodied and structured. The wine is however balanced with a slight excess in the alcoholic note. Structure and body explain the refinement needs and the producer's objective. Maximum weight of a Barbera of great substance.
