Terroir and Vinification Vision of Dolcetto d’Alba DOC
The Dolcetto d’Alba DOC from Cordero di Montezemolo embodies the true benchmark of Piedmontese everyday dining and stands as one of the estate's oldest, most historical releases. Alongside Barolo, this red variety is a genuine agronomic pillar proudly representing the Langhe wine heritage. Despite a name that might misleadingly suggest sweetness, Dolcetto captures the authentic identity of a dry, crisp table wine, delivering a straightforward, honest palate profile crafted specifically for food pairing and shared tables.
Agronomic Features and Exclusive Stainless Steel Protocol
The vineyards are established in La Morra on medium-textured limestone-clay marls, a specific soil matrix that encourages the intense primary fruit fragrance of the grape. Hand-harvesting is strictly conducted around mid-September to lock in the optimal acid-and-fruit balance of the berries. In the cellar, a traditional red vinification takes place exclusively inside temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. The complete avoidance of oak contact fully safeguards the grape's varietal purity, ensuring sharp aromatic stability and a fine, subtle polyphenol weave.
Sensory Profile of this Dolcetto
The exclusive maturation inside stainless steel vats grants this classic red a clean organoleptic outline driven by its fresh, vinous identity.
- Appellation, Blend and ABV: 100% Dolcetto / Dolcetto d’Alba DOC / 13.50% ABV.
- Visual Presentation: Intense, luminous ruby red color enhanced by vibrant, youthful purple highlights along the rim.
- Aromatic Bouquet: Vinous, clean, and deep on the nose, showcasing dominant notes of fresh cherry, wild strawberry, and wild blackberries, complemented by subtle floral layers.
