The winemaker recommends Masseria Setteporte Etna Rosso DOC 2022
Masseria Setteporte etna rosso nerello mascalese 2022 Rustic, mineral, sometimes even herbaceous, but with a soft and generous fruity heart. This is the essence of Masseria Setteporte's Etna Rosso, produced with grapes from thirty-year-old vines that have their roots in the volcanic soil of Etna.
Characteristics of the Nerello Mascalese wine:
Etna Rosso DOC 2022 Masseria Setteporte, Nerello Mascalese grapes with a small cut of Nerello Cappuccio. It does not refine in wood, it does about 9 months in steel and a few months in the bottle. The color is an intense ruby red, I expected it to be more transparent. The nose is elegant, it opens with compote of strawberries and raspberries, then the mineral that you expect from an Etna Rosso comes out, some spices and a distant herbaceous note. The sip is fine, tannins present but subtle and with good freshness and minerality. A good wine, a good Etna Rosso
Recommended pairings with Nerello Mascalese wine
Perfect with grilled artichokes, cruschi peppers, aubergine caponata; Focaccia with black olives and pecorino romano.
