Why the winemaker recommends Rivetti Froi Barbaresco DOCG 2020
Froi=fruì latch for those who don't know Piedmontese. It is the name of the historic cellar, already a reference point for measurements.
Interesting Cru comes from Barbaresco vines aged 35 to 50 years. Long fermentation process, aging in large oak barrels for approximately two years. Thanks to Massimo Rivetti with the Froi Barbaresco DOCG the taste of wine that awakens the charm of Barbaresco.
Characteristics of Rivetti Froi Barbaresco wine
Barbaresco by Rivetti a beautiful, clear and bright garnet red. Red fruits, violets, dried flowers. Ethereal; good correspondence on the palate with sustained acidity and tannin still to be smoothed out a bit.
Aged in large Slavonian oak barrels. Intense nose of ripe red fruit, liquorice, cocoa and tobacco. In the mouth great acidity and fine tannins. Good body and pleasantly long finish. Barbaresco can be stored in the cellar for 8 to 25 years.
Recommended pairings for this Barbaresco DOCG red wine Piemonte
Preferable combination with grilled red meats: braised beef rump and side dish of new potatoes; steamed turnip greens stew;
Platter of Romagna cheeses and cured meats.
Uncork the Barbaresco Froi and leave to decant for two hours and serve at the ideal temperature of 20°C in large Ballon glasses.
