Why the winemaker recommends Accornero Giulin Barbera Monferrato Superiore DOC 2022
When technique is at the service of the raw material. The perception of Barbera del Monferrato is amplified in the mouth where the brief aging in barrel is already well absorbed. Despite the acidity, softness and roundness perhaps compromise its juiciness a little. Really well done, it surprised me and I really liked it already. It would be interesting to try it again in a few years.
Characteristics of the Barbera Giulin wine from Accornero
The Barbera Monferrato Superiore DOC never disappoints, even the cap smells of blackberries and ripe sour cherries, then you pour it and the purplish red opens on the nose with hints already described then again jams, aromatic herbs, tobacco spices up to notes of ink. Nicely fresh in the mouth like the Monferrato gives, it continues to be distantly tannic and savory. The finish invites the sip in a dangerous way.
Recommended pairings for this Barbera Monferrato Superiore DOC red wine Piemonte
Red suitable in combination with truffle tagliatelle; ribeye and Piedmontese toma cheese; risotto with champignon mushrooms and some porcini mushrooms.
Uncork the Barbera Giulin and decant before serving at a temperature of 16 - 18°C in a Tulipano glass.
