Why I suggest the Langhe Rosso La Villa
I confirm the opinion of the critic Cernilli, the best Barbera there is, and I can only agree. A blend of Nebbiolo and Barbera, it bring the years beautiful and stimulates both the nose and the palate a certain gratitude.
The Sommelier: The color suggests that we are dealing with a wine that is not young, but one would never imagined 13 years. The nose, on the other hand, denotes an already quite advanced tertiarization: the fruit has given way to brine, then coffee, tobacco and very evident smoky notes. But the palate is striking for its acidity, an impression (a real plus of Barbera d’Alba) that suggests how old it is still.
Recommended pairings: Langhe Rosso La Villa DOC 2018 Elio Altare with a vegetable-based menu; incredibly even alone.
Uncork and decant one hour before serving at a temperature of 18 ° C, in a large Ballon glass.
Wine cellar: ... since 1948 Cantina Altare, sized for a family, Elio and his daughter Silvia run the company bringing a production of their wine to about 70,000 bottles a year. Labels spread all over the world to conquer increasingly demanding palates ...go to the card.
