Why the winemaker recommends Marei Chardonnay
Also this new addition to the Chardonnay range in steel/wood. The price is well positioned there. I really like the fresh and drinkable Chardonnay! It opens really well, there is a lot to say. Excellent acidity, tropical fruits and a good weight. Nice mouthfeel, buttery and compact not oppressive.
Sensory Profile
Marei Alto Adige DOC produced with 100% Chardonnay grapes. Crystal clear and transparent. Intense golden yellow color. In the glass you can perceive a slight density. On the nose it is fine and intense. Mango. Pineapple. Peach. Toasted almond. Flint. Vanilla. Light note of cream croissant. Very elegant. Full-bodied on the palate, warm, round, dry, fresh, savoury, light and pleasant tannic perception, balanced. Intense, fine, persistent, creamy aftertaste.
Recommended Pairings and Serving Guidelines
An excellent white from the Dolomites, it pairs well with both meat and fish: better with seafood.
Uncork and serve at a temperature of 10 and 12°C in a Tulipano glass.
Cellar
Each wine from Castel Sallegg tells a story of noble tradition, a bond with the territory and artisanal care. From the historic vineyards on the shores of Lake Caldaro come labels that combine sustainability, elegance and the centuries-old legacy of the Counts von Kuenburg family. A unique experience, rooted in the past and projected into the future.
