Why the winemaker recommends Ciavolich Montepulciano d'Abruzzo DOP Fosso Cancelli 2017
It is Montepulciano d'Abruzzo with a wild soul and this Fosso Cancelli 2015 from the hills of Loreto Aprutino certainly does not fall into the "pleasant" category. A sincere, frank wine, of a deep ruby red and already on the nose you understand its frank nature, and a sensation, so to speak, "animalistic". It does not make wood, the fermentation takes place in concrete tanks where it then remains for 1 year before moving on to refine in the bottle.
Characteristics of the Fosso Cancelli di Ciavolich wine
Montepulciano d'Abruzzo is the impenetrable ruby red wine. Nose suited to red fruit in alcohol and tertiary scents such as liquorice, tobacco and dark minerals. When tasted, great coherence where the minerality returns in the form of flavor. Elegantly fine and persistent.
Recommended pairings for this Montepulciano d'Abruzzo DOP red wine
