Why I suggest Battiferro Morellino di Scansano Riserva DOCG

The flower of the vineyards in the Maremma hinterland, present in the localities of Scansano. The geographical position of the estates is positively affected by the influence of winds and sea breezes coming from the early Tyrrhenian Sea. The rather hot summer temperatures enrich the Sangiovese grapes with polyphenol pigments and increase the sugar content in the grape. A determining factor for this super wine which is recognized as a highly respectable history dating back to the Etruscan period, documents testify the production of a wine of excellent goodness. In 1978 the Doc in Docg was recognized in 2007.

The Sommelier: Morellino di Scansano, a Sangiovese that in the glass appears a clear and deep red color, tending towards garnet with aging. The smell of ripe fruit, a mix of cherries and plums, follows with time and refinement to perceive aromas of spices (vanilla and cinnamon). Flavor in the mouth excels its velvety softness, little presence of tannins, immediately hot. The aroma of spices comes back gently and accompanies with grace the powerful alcohol content, 13.50% Vol, very long and persistent.

Recommended pairings: Tasty turnip greens and orecchiette, legume soups with fresh pasta. Brasati, fillet of beef with Florentine, aged cheeses, San Daniele raw ham, taralli scaldatelli with wine and to accompany dried fruit.

Uncork and decant 1 h before serving at 16 - 18 ° C. in wide Ballon glasses.

Cellar: The Grillesino, is the ambitious project in which Saverio Notari, son and enologist of Giancarlo Notari, returned to Florence to support his father in the development of the CompagniaDel Vino in Maremma, in Magliano, in Tuscany ... Go to the side
